Frances Maynard - Senior Associate Consultant

Frances Maynard is a former Director of CEDR and was primarily responsible for CEDR's training and educational capabilities, including the development and delivery of a wide variety of training, mediator assessment and work in the education, employment and public sectors. She now works closely with CEDR part-time in the role of Senior Associate.

Accredited as a CEDR mediator in 1994, she joined CEDR full time in 1997. She has mediated a wide variety of sectors including employment, insurance, professional negligence, intellectual property, medical negligence, wills and probate and voluntary sector disputes. She has also lectured, demonstrated mock mediations, run awareness raising sessions and designed tailored training for a wide range of commercial and public sector organisations to introduce the concept and practice of mediation in order to create more effective working relationships. She has trained widely in the UK as well as Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands.

Frances has played a key role in CEDR's work to promote awareness and maintain standards in mediation techniques. In particular, she was instrumental in developing CEDR's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for mediators - an initiative that has had a significant impact on standard setting in many areas of mediation.

Frances has undertaken extensive training in multi-party mediation and consensus building and, through CEDR Solve's consultancy services, develops creative and effective applications of the stakeholder dialogue approach to multinational corporations and public sector organisations as a management tool and to facilitate environmental disputes.
