CEDR Exchange forum

Forum: How to succeed in a standoff: don't let deadlock mean departure

This is an interactive session where delegates will be lead through a number of scenarios from the view points of the mediator and the parties, focusing on cases that appear to have nowhere left to go.

A panel of experienced mediators will examine these with delegates, exploring techniques for creating breakthrough with parties in deadlock and asking if giving up should ever be an option.

We are lucky to have a panel of expert mediators leading this session, who are Phillip Howell-Richardson, Beverly-Ann Rogers and Christopher Newmark.

Delegates will be invited to share their own thoughts and experiences on what can be one of the hardest parts of the mediation marathon, "hitting a mediation wall".
