3 days training focused on workplace mediation

For businesses few situations are more damaging than protracted and difficult disputes or disagreements with an employee or between groups of employees. Workplace conflict can ravage a well established company, distracting and distressing otherwise strong and efficient management teams responsible for dealing with the consequences. Being skilled to deal with these situations can therefore have a huge impact not only to employee relations but ultimately to an organisations bottom line.

Building on their internationally recognised and industry leading commercial Mediator Skills Training, CEDR, the Centre for Effective Dispute resolution have developed a workplace mediator skills training programme focussed skills training, available in two distinctive three day modules. The programme is designed to provide participants with the skills for the effective mediation of all HR and employment disputes.

CEDR Faculty

CEDR's training is delivered by senior mediators who draw on their experience to teach the skills and process of mediation from a practice based, pragmatic viewpoint not an academic or theoretical one.

Experience as trainers

As most participants on the course are very experienced and senior professionals, the training style of adult-to-adult is critical. Therefore CEDR trainers are not only experienced mediators but also experienced trainers and coaches, skilled in the techniques of adult learning.

Diversity of professional backgrounds

Having trainers from diverse professional backgrounds adds to the richness of training and mediation experience being delivered to the participants. The CEDR Faculty is made up of professionals with many different backgrounds including, HR professionals, lawyers, accountants, business people, architects, teachers and police.

Team work

While it is easy for individuals to stand up and present information, for training to be most effective a group of trainers must work together well to ensure efficient management of the course and quality delivery of the learning. The CEDR team work together regularly and effectively with a track record of ensuring high quality delivery of training.

On-going development and quality assurance

As with any professional, mediation trainers need to ensure they are constantly reflecting on their practice and developing their own skills. Each CEDR Faculty trainer receives delegate feedback on their coaching after each course. In addition the whole Faculty must attend two days of professional development training each year organised by CEDR.
