On the mediation day

In addition to the full Mediator skills training and advanced Mediator skills training CEDR currently provides, we also offer seven hour-long seminars that can be delivered directly to your organisation at your offices. These seminars are designed to raise awareness of mediation and the process involved in preparing and participating in a mediation.

Each seminar carries one Law Society CPD point, is personally delivered by a senior CEDR accredited mediator, and is suitable for a wide audience, from trainees to partners.

What you will learn
The seminar which draws on the practical mediation experience of both lawyers and CEDR Solve will include the following:

  • the five phases of mediation
  • Preparing - tips on who should attend and how to develop an overall strategy
  • Opening - delivering the opening statement
  • Exploring - tips to use this time effectively
  • Bargaining - including reality-testing and risk analysis
  • Settlement - drafting the agreement.

Who should attend?
The seminar, delivered by a practising mediator, will be of interest and value to a wide audience, from trainees to partners and is an effective forum for the sharing of knowledge and experiences.
