When is the right time to mediate?

Convincing yourself, your client and the other side when is the right time to mediate.

In addition to the full Mediator skills training and advanced Mediator skills training CEDR currently provides, we also offer seven hour-long seminars that can be delivered directly to your organisation at your offices. These seminars are designed to raise awareness of mediation and the process involved in preparing and participating in a mediation.

Each seminar carries one Law Society CPD point, is personally delivered by a senior CEDR accredited mediator, and is suitable for a wide audience, from trainees to partners.

What you will learn
The seminar, which draws on the practical mediation experience of both lawyers and CEDR Solve, will include the following:

  • insights into the indicators for the optimum time for mediation to take place
  • discussion of the relevant procedural rules, protocols and case law, which give guidance timing and offering mediation
  • tips on discussing the use of mediation with your client
  • exploration of best practice in raising EDR with the other side and convincing them that it is appropriate
  • consideration of other dispute resolution processes available to resolve disputes.

Who should attend?
The seminar, delivered by a practising mediator, will be of interest and value to a wide audience, from trainees to partners and is an effective forum for the sharing of knowledge and experiences.

The cost
This seminar is provided free of charge as part of CEDR's commitment to its members and its not-for-profit role of raising awareness of EDR.

This seminar can be provided to non-members at a fee of £300.00 + VAT.
