John Munton is responsible for the operation of CEDR’s global dispute resolution services and is based at our head office in London. Since joining CEDR Solve John has worked with clients on a huge variety of claims related to over 30 business sectors including banking & finance, construction & engineering, energy & natural resources, ICT, healthcare, media, partnerships, property and trusts & probate cases. These claims have involved the full spectrum issues including matters related to working relationships within business (which have no financial value) to major cases of a cross border nature with claims in excess of £1 billion. John advises clients on the best dispute resolution solutions available including mediation, arbitration, adjudication, neutral chairing and investigations. One of John’s main responsibilities is the management of the Panels of neutrals that work in partnership with CEDR for both voluntary and binding dispute resolution processes. He ensures that the neutrals on CEDR’s Global Mediator Panel match our clients requirements, adhere to industry standards and adopt CEDR’s best practice processes. John reviews the credentials of new and existing CEDR Skills Accredited Mediators, arbitrators and adjudicators for consideration to the panel on a rolling basis.
John has been working in the dispute resolution services for over 25 years and prior to joining CEDR he was the Senior Practice Manager at Keating Chambers where he worked with clients all over the world on the provision of barrister services for disputes related to construction & engineering, energy & natural resources and ICT projects. His extensive experience working with the construction industry is put to good use at CEDR operating our Construction Adjudication Service. In additional to his work with CEDR John works as a Project Manager for his local hospice giving him an insight into the healthcare industry which has proved a useful skill when working with CEDR’s clients in the NHS and wider healthcare sector.
John is a member of the Institute of Directors and a Qualified Member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks. He is also a former Committee Member of BARCO (Bar Council’s Commercial Products Company) now known as the Bar Council Benefits Members Scheme where he assisted with the negotiations of new contracts with providers.
