International ADR Trainers Network
Sharing expertise and different experiences
Dates: March 2011 – on-going. Most Recent Meeting: November 2015
The International ADR Trainers Network, created by CEDR in 2011, brings together high quality trainers biennially to provide a forum for the sharing of ideas about current practice worldwide, innovations in the field of ADR training delivery, developing Standards and Good Practice for ADR Trainers.
The Second Meeting of the International ADR Trainers' Network took place in London on 11 and 12 November 2015. During the two day meeting, 52 trainers explored the challenges encountered in providing mediation training around the globe and their solutions for dealing with such issues. We also looked at the influence of cultural factors upon mediation training in a session led by Dr Xiaohui Yuan from the University of Bristol and the group worked on presentation skills with the National Theatre.
The global participants are all CEDR Mediator Skills Training Alumni and come from a range of countries including:
- South Africa

About the Network
The Network meets for a full meeting every two years in London. In addition, the group is kept in contact on a more informal basis between meetings and there are network webinar sessions (an example is shown below).
The network is currently restricted to those who have been trained as mediation trainers by CEDR and is by invitation only. This on-going project not only aims to facilitate the sharing of learning about training delivery in different cultures but also to steadily improve standards of training and thus bring a greater level of satisfaction in mediation in participating countries.
