CEDR announces new process for Mediator bursary applications
The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) is announcing a new process for bursary applications for its Mediator Skills Training course. Anyone interested in taking part in the five-day course, which leads to assessment for CEDR accreditation, can apply for a bursary of up to 100% of the course fees.
Instead of applying for a bursary at the same time as applying for a particular course, applicants are now encouraged to apply for funding by the end of April. This will enable CEDR to get a complete overview of applicants and ensures a more effective distribution of bursary funds throughout the year.
James South, Training Director at CEDR, said: “In order to ensure that support is given to the most deserving applicants, applications for bursaries should be submitted by the end of April. This enables us to get a complete overview of bursary applications for the year ahead and ensures that priority is given to deserving applicants.”
The purpose of CEDR’s training bursaries is to encourage and enable those prevented from taking part in Mediator Skills Training for financial reasons to receive financial aid. Applicants need to fulfil a number of criteria in order to be eligible for a bursary, including their potential for promoting EDR theory and techniques, financial need and post-accreditation plans. Preference will be given to overseas applicants, those from charities or voluntary organisations and those from the public sector. Further information and details on CEDR’s bursary procedure can be found on CEDR's website - or contact CEDR’s Training Manager Tracey Commock on 0207 536 6000.
CEDR’s mission is to encourage and develop mediation and other cost-effective dispute resolution and prevention techniques in commercial and public-sector disputes and civil litigation across the globe. It actively promotes equality and non-discrimination on the grounds of colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age or marital status in awarding bursaries.
