CEDR toasts mediation at Annual Dinner
This years’ CEDR Annual Mediation Dinner was held at The Commonwealth Club, the setting was striking with a modern yet glamorous feel throughout the evening.
Special guests included The Master of the Rolls, Sir Anthony Clarke along with the new Deputy Head of Civil Justice, Sir Martin Moore-Bick, with travelling guests who not only crossed the floods in the Midlands and Yorkshire but also came from as far as South Africa and Sweden. Law firms present included Clifford Chance, Bird & Bird and Brabners along with Clyde & Co, CMS Cameron McKenna, Hammonds, Herbert Smith, and Lovells, who all bought tables, as did Brick Court Chambers.
The evening began with a champagne reception followed by a gourmet three- course meal. Guests enjoyed a comical short speech from Bill Wood QC who was thanked by Karl Mackie, CEDR’s Chief Executive. The guests were entertained in between courses by excerpts from Gershwin and Porter standards performed by the Royal College of Music. Mingling after the dinner enabled guests to network and socialise before departing until the next dinner in 2008.
