Andy joined CEDR in 1999 where he has held a number of senior management positions as a Director.
An architect by original qualification, Andy spent the early part of his career with an international civil and structural engineering consultancy based in London. He then joined a niche architectural practice as a project architect specialising in nuclear medicine installations before establishing his own firm. His experience covers work with private, commercial and public sector clients on residential, hospital, airport and urban development projects.
A highly experienced commercial mediator and trainer, Andy has a strong background in multi-party/multi-person conflicts, particularly in contentious public sector and corporate settings. His key areas of litigation related mediation practice cover public authority contracts, professional negligence and construction disputes.
As one of CEDR's senior trainers he has trained hundreds of mediators around the world and has worked with international agencies including the Council of Europe, the International Finance Corporation and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
His development work at CEDR has involved the production of a number of CEDR publications including its ADR Guide for Public Authorities, ADR Guide for Local Authorities in Public Private Partnerships and Dispute Resolution Procedure for PFI and Long Term Contracts.
Andy is a member of the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management and a member of the Civil Mediation Council (UK). He holds a Doctorate of Professional Studies in Commercial Mediation Development.
