Anthony is a Chartered Surveyor and Arbitrator, Registered Fixed Charge Receiver, Registered Valuer, Mediator and has also acted as an Independent Expert and Expert Witness. His professional background is in property investment, valuation, development, planning and Landlord & Tenant issues and he has wide experience in resolving distressed property in respect of Law of Property Act Receivership.
With over 35 years of experience in arbitrating rent review, valuation and landlord and tenant disputes and as the former chairman of the RICS Dispute Resolution Panel, Anthony was responsible for training surveyor arbitrators and lecturing on the Arbitration Act 1996.
Anthony has lectured widely on both dispute resolution, receivership and property related matters and was privileged to give two of the prestigious Bar/Law Society/RICS Blundell Memorial Lectures on ADR in commercial disputes and the role of the Expert witness in arbitration". He was the author of “Offices Today & Tomorrow”, a property development textbook published by the College of Estate Management at Reading University and has contributed to the journal Corporate Recovery & Insolvency.
As an arbitrator, he was appointed under the London Squares Preservation Act 1931 to resolve a planning dispute relating to a politically sensitive development involving a local planning authority, local community groups and a development company, thus effectively acting as planning inspector.
Anthony has also mediated a number of important compulsory purchase disputes arising out of the acquisition of land for HS1, the High Speed Railway, several of which were Early Neutral Evaluations.
