Muiris is a CEDR-Accredited mediator with over three decades’ experience in clinical negligence and personal injury. Formerly, a senior partner at leading city litigation practice Stewarts and a past President of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), he has acted for claimants in complex, high-value litigation and worked extensively with defendant firms, insurers and NHS Resolution along with the judiciary, politicians and government officials on issues of access to justice. This unique perspective enables him to understand the clinical, legal and human dimensions of dispute: breach and causation, quantum issues such as rehabilitation and long-term care, and the wider impact on both families and healthcare providers. He is equally attuned to the commercial and reputational pressures facing hospitals, insurers and medical professionals. Muiris’s mediation style is calm, pragmatic and solutions-focused. Primarily facilitative, he is also prepared to reality-test and provide neutral evaluation where requested, particularly in clinically or technically complex matters.
