A CMC Fellow, I have worked in the ADR field for over 20 years. I have extensive experience in both face to face - one day and time limited - and on-line mediations involving both unrepresented and fully represented parties, across a wide spectrum of commercial sectors both public and private. complainants over dissatisfaction with cosmetic medical procedures, to post issue commercial claims and allegations of fraud following an FSA investigation. I am a naturally empathetic individual which means I can help parties see situations from the other’s point of view helping to unlock constructive conversation, build trust and rapport, and encourage parties to work towards a viable outcome. What I find particularly fulfilling is how the skills learned from my professional background in corporate and investor relations have proven to be invaluable. Parties often site these attributes as being key in the successful outcome: Commercial astuteness, commitment and calm, friendly manner, the ease with which I connect and communicate with them, regardless of whether they are barrister, lawyer, company director, business owner, supplier or purchaser; my ability to assimilate information, often outside my area of expertise, quickly to be able to ask sensible questions and begin to identify the key interests that parties need to address; diffusing difficult, emotionally charged situations often involving vulnerable participants; and diplomacy when dealing with highly charged situations.
