Professional Background

Ronald was the first batch of practitioners who attended the CEDR training course and CEDR Negotiation Course in Hong Kong in the mid-90s. Since then, he has been practising mediation throughout his career. In recent years, the Hong Kong Judiciary has introduced a form of “compulsory” mediation in certain types of cases before the matters can be listed for hearing, since then, mediation is conducted in all my cases. Further, he is also the first batch of “CEPA” Investment Agreement Mediator between Hong Kong and Mainland China. Ronald has conducted the first CEPA Investment Agreement Mediation between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. He is also the chairperson of the ICC Commercial Mediation Competition – Hong Kong and has been involved in promoting mediation to university students in Hong Kong and globally. Ronald is the chairperson of the Public Education and Publicity Sub-Committee on the promotion of mediation for the Hong Kong Government. Finally, he is also a committee member of the Steering Committee on Mediation also for the Hong Kong Government.
