Andrew Miller KC is a leading commercial mediator and Chartered Arbitrator with extensive experience resolving complex domestic and international disputes. A Band 1 ranked mediator in Chambers UK and former King's Counsel, he has acted as a mediator since 1995 and has led more than 350 mediations involving commercial contracts, construction and engineering, energy, insurance, shareholder and professional negligence disputes.
 
Before becoming a full-time mediator, Andrew enjoyed a distinguished career as a commercial barrister spanning more than 28 years. He combines deep legal expertise with a practical and commercially focused approach, helping parties resolve high-value and strategically important disputes across a broad range of sectors.

About Work

Drawing on more than 35 years of experience in commercial dispute resolution, Andrew is regularly appointed to mediate complex disputes involving construction and engineering projects, commercial contracts, energy and natural resources, insurance and reinsurance, shareholder disputes, property damage and professional negligence claims.
 
As a former King's Counsel and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Andrew has acted in litigation, arbitration and mediation across the UK and internationally. His experience includes disputes valued from £10,000 to more than £500 million, often involving multiple parties, cross border issues and significant commercial or reputational risk.
 
Andrew has particular expertise in construction, infrastructure and energy disputes, including major international projects, delay and disruption claims, defects disputes, insurance matters and large scale property damage claims. He is also regularly appointed in shareholder, partnership, insolvency and commercial contract disputes.
 
Clients value Andrew's approachable and hands on style. He invests significant time in preparation and encourages parties to remain actively engaged throughout the mediation process. Combining commercial realism with careful reality testing, he helps parties evaluate risk objectively and identify practical pathways to settlement while ensuring the process remains firmly party led.
