About Work
Commercial, shareholder and business disputes are central to Francisco's mediation practice. He regularly assists business owners, family enterprises, employers, developers and commercial organisations in resolving disputes involving commercial contracts, shareholder relationships, employment matters, construction projects, international trade, tax issues and complex business negotiations.
Before becoming a full-time mediator, Francisco spent 25 years in senior executive leadership, culminating in his role as CEO of Holding Tonicorp, one of Ecuador's leading consumer goods businesses. He led the negotiations for the sale of the US$500 million group to The Coca-Cola Company and Arca Continental, while also serving as President of Ecuador's Federation of Chambers of Industries, representing more than 80% of the country's manufacturing output. This background gives him a practical understanding of the commercial, financial and strategic challenges businesses face when disputes arise.
His mediation experience includes shareholder and family business disputes, commercial contract negotiations, employment and workforce restructuring, construction and property disputes, landlord and tenant matters, cross-border supplier and buyer disputes, tax negotiations, public policy negotiations and international commercial mediation. He is particularly experienced in disputes involving owner-managed businesses, family enterprises, corporate governance and complex commercial negotiations.
Clients value Francisco's pragmatic, commercially focused and approachable style. Drawing on decades of executive leadership, he encourages parties to move beyond legal positions and focus on their underlying business interests. Through careful preparation, flexible facilitation and a strong understanding of commercial realities, he helps parties develop practical agreements that support long-term business success.
