Short Introduction

Iain Christie is a highly experienced commercial, workplace and public sector mediator who has successfully resolved hundreds of disputes across a wide range of sectors. A full time mediator since 2014 and accredited since 2004, he combines experience as a barrister, diplomat, coach and facilitator to help parties resolve complex disputes and rebuild working relationships.

Previously a legal adviser at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and later a barrister specialising in public and private law, Iain brings extensive expertise in negotiation, communication and dispute resolution. He is a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council and is recognised for his ability to handle disputes involving legal, commercial and interpersonal complexity.

About Work

Commercial, workplace and public sector disputes are central to Iain's mediation practice. He regularly mediates disputes involving business partnerships, shareholder relationships, employment issues, intellectual property, professional negligence, media and reputation matters, data protection and public sector conflicts.

Drawing on experience as a barrister, diplomat and senior government adviser, Iain brings a strong understanding of complex negotiations, stakeholder management and dispute resolution. His work spans commercial organisations, charities, public bodies, regulators and professional services firms.

His mediation experience includes business ownership disputes, workplace relationship breakdowns, intellectual property claims, public law matters, regulatory disputes and conflicts involving reputation, privacy and data protection issues. He is particularly experienced in disputes where relationships and communication are key to achieving resolution.
