About Work
Mia Forbes Pirie is an award-winning international mediator and facilitator specialising in high-stakes, high-sensitivity disputes involving UHNW individuals, families, founders, boards and organisations. She is frequently instructed where relationships matter as much as outcomes, and where complexity, strong personalities or long histories make resolution challenging.
Her work focuses on helping clients navigate conflict, transition and decision-making while preserving trust and long-term relationships. Mia has mediated and facilitated matters across family business, partnerships, boards, energy, sustainability, politics, technology and professional services, and regularly works with clients whose public profile or private wealth requires exceptional discretion.
Formerly Head of Alternative Dispute Resolution at Jurit LLP, and trained as both a lawyer and a scientist, Mia brings strong analytical rigour to her mediation practice. Alongside this, her personal style is calm, attuned and relational, enabling her to create psychological safety even in emotionally charged or entrenched disputes. She is particularly effective in situations involving complex dynamics, power imbalances and breakdowns of trust.
Clients consistently remark on Mia’s ability to understand people quickly and to hold difficult conversations with warmth and clarity. British billionaire Simon Nixon has said, “Mia is someone I trust completely,” while Sir Stirling Moss described her “unshakeable calm confidence.” Clients at Microsoft have referred to her as “the Einstein of EQ.”
Mia’s approach is integrative and bespoke, drawing on mediation, facilitation, neuroscience-informed coaching, narrative methods and Internal Family Systems therapy. This enables her not only to resolve disputes, but to help clients move forward with greater clarity, confidence and connection.
