I have been a mediator for some 25 years and in this time have been appointed by parties to mediate on hundreds of occasions. The cases I have assisted in resolving tend to include individuals but also smaller businesses (perhaps with a direct personal interest because they are owner managed). I am skilled at building trust and confidence during the short time I am present with parties during the mediation day. I am a big believer in mediations that are 'in person', wherever possible. I have acquired experience of a broad area of disputes involving private law issues. All aspects of settlement options need to be identified in case a different solution may be found, so not to be too 'blinkered'. Ultimately, parties come to understand that this is the best chance of doing the best deal that is available to them. Parties need to understand the dynamics of their dispute and all of the different outcomes that could come to pass.
