Srdan Simac
Mediator
Short Introduction
I support clients in conflict in regaining control and resolving disputes on their own terms. My focus is on creating a structured, safe environment where constructive dialogue replaces impasse. I am committed to helping parties reach durable agreements that protect relationships, time, and peace of mind.
Among my professional roles: Judge of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia and its former president; arbiter and mediator; the latter is the role I like the most.
About Work
I run 550+ mediation cases (court mediation and outside of court mediation, from minor to huge, complex and multiparty cases, mainly all kinds of commercial cases,s including international), including online mediations.
I believe in the capacity and ability of the mediation participants in dealing with their dispute and in finding the most appropriate solution tailored to their needs.
I practice a facilitative style, encouraging the parties to act as the real owners of the dispute and to take responsibility and active roles in mediation.
I adopt a proactive, problem-solving-generating role, including motivating the parties to think outside the box and explore fresh or different settlement options when needed.
I contact the parties and their representatives in advance of the mediation day, during and after the mediation sessions, (pre-mediation meetings and private preparatory meetings, including exchange of documents and pre-mediation mediator's letters).
I adopt an approach in which I ask parties in advance to consider any possible impasse as a temporary event, not the end of mediation.
I go the extra mile in mediation efforts to reach solutions. U keep in touch with the parties and their representatives after the mediation, no matter the outcome, and I am always at their disposal if they need me afterwards.
I accommodate the specific needs of each case with his versatile style, combining his experience as a judge or mediator as required.
I am the one who is the last one to quit with participants and their dispute in mediation.
