A recognized expert in dispute resolution, she serves as a Board Member of the International Mediation Institute and has acted as arbitrator and mediator with leading institutions. In 2024, she made history as the first Egyptian female arbitrator on the CAS Ad Hoc Panel for the Summer Olympics.

Laila has been part of the CEDR Faculty since 2012 where she delivered Mediator Skills Training in different countries including Egypt, the UAE and Lebanon.
She has been delivering dispute resolution trainings with several institutes including Middlesex University, Dubai, the American University, Beirut and the ABA-ROLI programme in Cairo and Alexandria.
