Short Introduction

Andy is a practicing mediator. Since 2007 he has worked on a large number of disputes across varied sectors from the purely commercial to those with highly personal and emotional issues. He is a member of the CEDR Mediation Skills Training Faculty.  He has consulted on numerous ADR projects, including ones in Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East.

About Work

Andy Rogers has over 35 years’ experience working with business, the public and third sectors. After graduating from the University of Wolverhampton in 1990, Andy became a broadcast journalist working for LBC Radio, before going on to work for IRN (Independent Radio News), the BBC and various Channel 4 production companies. Moving into communications, Andy spent two years with the travel company Cosmos plc, before spending four years in the telecoms and entertainment field as PR Manager for Cable and Wireless Communications plc (now Virgin Media).

From 1998-2005, in his time as a Senior Account Director with two Communications Consultancies, Andy led numerous strategic campaigns for clients including: 3i plc, 3M plc, BTG plc (British Technology Group), the Consumers’ Association (Which?), the Department for Trade and Industry (BEIS), EMAP plc, Fujitsu plc, Motorola plc, RS Components and Electrocomponents plc. 

Andy Rogers is currently a practicing mediator, trainer and Principal Consultant of CEDR.

Key Skills

Andy has developed and led bespoke Training Programmes in Mediation, ADR (including ENE - Early Neutral Evaluation), Negotiation and Communication Skills for private companies, governments and NGOs around the world.
 
Andy is a Trustee and Board Director of the Civil Mediation Council, where he is Deputy Chair of the Mediation Standards Board. He has played a key role in developing standards for commercial mediation in England & Wales since 2009. He is also a Trustee and Board Director of the International Mediation Institute, an organisation set-up to ensure users of mediation worldwide can access commercial mediators of a high standard, where he chairs the Credentialing Committee.

Qualifications

In addition to being CEDR Accredited in 2007 and on the CEDR Mediator Panel in 2009, Andy is also on other international Panels. Andy is a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council.

Outside of the world of dispute resolution he has won three national and international awards for his work (including a global IPRA Golden Award for creativity and PR Week awards for social impact).
