Public Law Solicitor, Judicial Review mediation
About Work
My caseload since 2017 has spanned civil, commercial, workplace and employment contexts, with a particular depth of experience in health, social care and disability disputes. This includes medical treatment decisions, care planning, end-of-life care, mental capacity, and judicial review proceedings - frequently involving NHS trusts, local authorities, care providers, families and legal representatives as simultaneous parties. I am known for Court of Protection mediation, working alongside the Official Solicitor and the UK’s leading chambers and legal firms. I was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2024 to research conflict resolution in palliative care internationally.
In workplace and employment mediation, I work with organisations across the public, private and third sectors on relationship breakdown, grievance, discrimination and equality matters - with particular expertise in neurodiversity, mental health, disability and Equality Act disputes, up to board and CEO level. For CEDR, I train accredited mediators in workplace mediation.
Before mediating, I spent twenty years in public sector leadership across education, health and social care - a foundation I draw on to understand the systemic pressures and professional dynamics that frequently underlie the disputes I am asked to resolve. My pre-mediation process is thorough and tailored, ensuring that every party - including those who are vulnerable, disabled or unfamiliar with formal dispute resolution - is able to participate fully and on equal terms. I am described by clients and legal professionals as measured, perceptive and rigorous.
