Alan Jacobs

Lead Faculty, Trainer

Short Introduction

The thought that, as a mediator, I can make a positive difference to parties engaged together in a dispute and help them to find a compromise that enables them to move on gives me so much motivation and personal satisfaction, and it is such an honour to be able to pass on the skills and the learning from my mediator experience to those wishing to themselves train as mediators.

About Work

As a solicitor and law firm partner I had management and training responsibilities for many years and the training aspect was immensely enjoyable and rewarding. It felt natural therefore for me to become a part of the CEDR training faculty and I have not been disappointed. Almost without exception the training candidates are very strongly motivated and eager to learn and enhance their skills. I have met some wonderful people from all walks of life and of diverse nationalities, and it has been so gratifying to be a part of their mediator journey and, hopefully, to add value to their training experience..
