Overview
The landmark 2023 Court of Appeal decision in the Churchill case backing court-directed mediation has opened up a new landscape for mediation in England and Wales. In this forward-looking event, co-organised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London Branch) and CEDR, Gill Mansfield will be joined by mediators and litigation practitioners to look at the implications of the case on practice in 2024 and further into the future. The event promises to be a lively evening of discussion and practical advice.
We will be joined by Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho, Terry Renouf, Baria Ahmed, and Jeremy Mash.
Join this event to:
- Gain understanding of the nature of the Churchill decision and its impact on Mediation in England and Wales
- Consider what the immediate changes likely to be felt by mediation parties and practitioners may experience in preparing their litigation strategy and how to best prepare for these changes
- Understand the effects the case may have on working with parties in mediation if they have been ordered to attend
- Understand the trends for the future and where mediation may go in England and Wales and more widely.
