CEDR Solve to provide the panel for the LIFFE Complaints Ombudsman service
The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE), the London market of NYSE Liffe, NYSE Euronext’s European derivatives business, has chosen CEDR Solve to provide a four-person panel for the LIFFE Complaints Ombudsman scheme it operates for its members.
As part of its process for the investigation of any complaint arising in connection with the performance of, or failure to perform, any of its regulatory functions, the Exchange arranges for complaints to be investigated by an independent ombudsman. Following a review of its complaints process, the Exchange entered into discussions with CEDR Solve in order to make use of their expertise and has appointed a panel of Sir Henry Brooke, Dr Karl Mackie CBE, Patrick Sherrington and Lord Woolf as the four LIFFE Complaints Ombudsman.
The term of the appointment is to run for a year. CEDR Solve will select one Ombudsman for each complaint directed to it. In the event that a Complaints Ombudsman becomes unable to consider a complaint CEDR Solve will select an alternative.
