With the improvement of civil justice processes, being a pre-requisite for countries to join the EU, CEDR has partnered with a number of international funding organisations to introduce mediation to assit countries wishing to accede. Assistance typically involves research and analysis of existing judicial systems, design of court mediation pilot schemes, mediator training programmes and awareness raising programmes.
Over the past 20 years, CEDR has trained mediators in 20 European countries and in addition to country specific activity, has been involved in a number of pan-European initiatives including :
